Help Raise Funds for Wayne & David's Dinner with Lizzo

Before Lizzo ever came into rescue, she was tied to a park bench and abandoned by her owner. Two homeless men, Wayne and David, witnessed this and did something extraordinary: they stayed with Lizzo all night, making sure she was safe, fed, and not taken or harmed. The next day, they reached out to someone who knew us—and that call is how Lizzo ended up safe in rescue.

After reflecting on Lizzo’s full journey, we realized the most meaningful way to honor her story is to honor the people who first chose compassion when they had nothing to gain.

💝 So we pivoted our already up and running fundraiser, The Valentine’s “Dinner with Lizzo” event, and it will now serve as a fundraiser for "Wayne and David's Dinner with Lizzo", to thank them and support them for the kindness they showed when it mattered most.
